This restaurant space incorporates a Dedicated Outside Air System (DOAS) to control humidity. Located in the corner of an 11 floor office building, this street level restaurant required an attentive mechanical design of the kitchen exhaust system. A pollution control unit with an integral fire protection system was incorporated in the design to reduce any odors expelled by the kitchen exhaust. HVAC zoning is provided by several split system heat pumps. The heat pumps, along with the DOAS, provide an HVAC system independent from the base building system. To reduce energy costs, an energy management system is also installed to modulate the kitchen exhaust fan via duct temperature sensors. A new natural gas service was installed for the high efficiency water heater, cooking range and oven.
